Let me say from the onset that I possess no formal qualifications. On leaving school I went to work for a dressmaker after four years I married and started a family and became a homemaker (or in those days you were simply a housewife) . I made clothes for myself and my children, I bought books and discovered how to sew curtains and cushions and so -forth. As life progressed my sewing had to give way to the demands of working and running a home.

Now I am older and have more time on my hands I have been able to resurrect my hobby. In the early 90s I discovered patchwork and have made quilts etc for family and friends. I have a great love of sewing, I am mostly self taught from books and the occasional class/workshop. I am lucky to live in such a beautiful area and cannot help but be inspired by all around me.
